Range Modifier is a weapon stat that affects how well damage holds up over distance. It is used to help separate close-range weapons from weapons that stay effective farther away.
How It Is Used
A higher range modifier means the weapon keeps more of its damage at longer distances. A lower range modifier means damage falls off more sharply as distance increases.
Rifle-caliber weapons usually have stronger long-range performance than pistols or shotguns. Shotguns tend to have the most extreme distance limits because their pellets spread out and lose effectiveness quickly.
